Primary Section Annual Day

A musical extravaganza of classes 2 and 4 ideated by the Vice-Principal Ms.Jayasree Menon of Primary Section took place at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium, today afternoon. It depicted the vibrant traits of the five elements of nature with animation and visual effects to create an immersive experience. The amalgamation of dance and music attempted to raise awareness on the environment at a time when climate change is of utmost importance. Space, Earth, Wind, Water and Fire came together in a rising crescendo at the end which left the hundreds of people in the audience mesmerised and asking for more. The event concluded with the message ‘Recognize the problem, raise your voices, something must be done

Middle and Secondary Section Annual Day

Students of classes 6 and 8 embarked on a journey of ' Discovery of India' today evening at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium. The show exposed watershed moments in the history of the Indian civilization and an insightful view into the pluralist nature of our country. The magnum opus conceived by the Vice Principal Ms Reena Kahlon traced the 5000 year history of India, up until the country attained freedom in 1947, from the naming of our motherland as 'Bharat' to the times when it was 'Sone Ki Chidiya', and the glorious reign of Guptas and Mauryas to the invasion by the British and the great freedom struggle. It was presented in the style of a dance documentary but also included a dramatic recreation of certain scenes.

Primary Sports Day

Zebar School celebrated its Annual Sports Meet for Primary Section- on the bright and sunny morning of December 22. The Chief guest Mr Manan Choksi and Principal Sharmistha Ma’am declared the meet open by releasing a bunch of colourful balloons that floated high up into the air embodying the spirit of joy and freedom through sports. Parents and teachers cheered collectively as the students of class 1, 3 and 5 marched in proudly.
All challenges were age appropriate, thereby taking away the stress of performing. Many colourful races were organised for the students. Zebarites participated in drills and displays, such as aerobics, gymnastics, Hula hoops, sack race and a relay race with great enthusiasm. The Programme culminated with warm words of encouragement and appreciation by the Vice Principal Ms Jayasree Menon.

Tiny Tots of Zebar Pre-Primary celebrate Sports Day

In recognition of the importance of sports in a child’s life, Zebar School for Children celebrated its Annual Sports Day for children of Junior KG and Playgroup.

The day began with the declaration of the meet, marking the commencement of the ceremony, followed by the lighting of the torch. It was a beautiful sight to behold on a cold winter morning as the tiny tots entertained the audience with a spectacular pyramid and dumbbell show. The children participated in large numbers in engaging and innovative races like Animal Race, Huddle Race, Sack Race, Lemon Spoon Race, Potato Collecting Race, Popcorn Race, Star Plucking Race and Carrot Collecting Race. In the end, children from Junior KG enthralled the audience with their spectacular dance performance on ‘Give me freedom, Give me fire’.

Indovation, Innovation motto at Zebar Science Fair

The Annual Science fair of the Middle and Secondary students focussed on preparing a new generation of innovators. On entering the venue, one could feel the pulse and magnitude of the event. The entire campus was abuzz with energy and admiration.

Besides the working models of respiratory systems, circulatory systems and hydraulic tower bridge, the power points prepared by students demonstrated a reasonable degree of innovation and research. Robotics ruled the Science fair this year as one could see various models based on this concept. Students presented a variety of projects including intelligent Robot, Electric cars and Robots, colour Sorter Robot.

The other highlights of the Exhibition were working models on Solar Panels, Solar Mobile charger, the future colony of Mars, Vacuum cleaner and Hydroelectricity dam.

This Exhibition made the younger generation realise the interdependence of science, technology and growth.

Diwali Activities for Grades 7, 8, and 9

Diwali-Activities

Festive season fills our lives with new positivity, and so does Diwali. Art and Craft diwali activities at Zebar were carried out for the students of grades 7,8 and 9. Students learnt to make beautiful gifting boxes with paper, beautiful lampshades for Diwali, and wall hangings. Students created beautiful boxes and decorated them using stickers, flowers, and accessories. The paper lamps were decorated with colourful stripes, and the wall hangings were made using old recycled items. The students took home the craft items which they had created to decorate their homes for the festival. The students finally left for the Diwali vacation wishing each other, “A Happy and Prosperous Diwali.”

Remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Students of VII A held an assembly on the birth anniversary of Sardar  Vallabhbhai  Patel, the chief architect of modern India. The assembly commenced with a prayer which was followed by the thought of the day. Students performed a skit to highlight his contribution in unifying the country at the time of independence. It also provided an in-depth understanding of the vision, tact, diplomacy and pragmatic approach of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who integrated 562 princely states with the Union of India and prevented Balkanisation of the newly independent country. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Zebarites visit old age home

To make our students passionate and empathetic towards those who are disadvantaged and in distress, students of grade 9 C visited the RJ Trivedi Suvarna Mandir Trust. The students were accompanied by the teachers and the Academic Advisor of the school Ms. Radhika Iyer. Zebarites carried thoughtful gifts of fruits and biscuits for the inmates of the old age home. Ms. Radhika Iyer gifted shawls to all the inmates.
Zebarites interacted with the Grandpas and Grandmas of the old age home. Some students played Garba while others sat and listened to their stories. This visit gave a deep insight into the students to some of the bitter and disillusioned realities of life, which turned out to be an eye-opener for all. Students averred on their way back to be always with their parents through thick and thin.

Field Trip to Gandhi Ashram

A field trip was organised recently for the children of the pre-primary section to ‘Gandhi Ashram’. The guide at the Ashram explained to the children Gandhiji’s principle of non-violence and made the children promise that they would follow the same policy to achieve success in life. Students were shown a demonstration of the charkha used by Gandhiji. They were already familiar with the ‘speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil’ monkeys and were thrilled to see them. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise them with the life and times of Gandhiji. – The Father of the Nation. This visit also helped to instil confidence in the children to go out of their familiar surroundings and proceed together as a team.

Annual Science Fair of Primary Section

The Annual Science Fair for the Primary Section was held on 13th October 2018. It emulated the hope and aspirations of our children in becoming the geniuses of tomorrow. Students of Grade 3, 4 and 5 poured their creativity and talent at this Science fair. It also brought out the latent skills of the children.

Under the guidance of Science teachers, the students put up various experiments on display. Students prepared illustrative charts on The Human Heart, Respiratory System, Solar System and Balanced Diet. The models showcased the interest and understanding of Science. Students prepared working models on Rain Water Harvesting, Wind Mills, Modes of transport, ATM Dispenser, Candy Dispenser, Rockets, Money Printing machine and cold drink vending machine using old cardboard boxes and cereal boxes.

Parents and visitors were invited to motivate our student’s venture, and they gave positive feedback on the same.
