The celebration, costumes and rituals of any institution reveal a lot about its culture. Celebrating cultures and festivals symbolises the unity with one and all, which our school takes pride in . Navratri celebrations got underway at Zebar School for Children with great zeal and enthusiasm. Children and teachers came in traditional dresses which made for a spectacular visual treat for everyone to see and relish. The event started with ‘Aarti’ followed by class wise performance. The children admired costumes and accessories of each other apart from dancing to the garba beats. The children’s joy knew no bounds, and for some, it was an experience of a lifetime.

Zebarites Celebrate Paryatan Parv
‘Paryatan Parv’ was enthusiastically celebrated by Zebarites as per CBSE Guidelines. The teachers executed various activities connecting Tourism with Education, which proved to be of great interest to the students.
During the celebrations, an assembly was conducted by students of 9th B to enhance the knowledge of their peers about the cultural richness of India and to motivate them to travel and explore more.Students of grade 7th made posters with effective slogans and beautiful designs promoting and provoking tourists to visit different states of India.
Students of grade 8 designed travel brochures which were colourful and informative. Through these activities, our teachers inculcated a sense of responsibility in Zebarites towards safeguarding the culture and heritage of the country.
Annual Science Fair of Primary Section
The Annual Science Fair for the Primary Section was held on 13th October 2018. It emulated the hope and aspirations of our children in becoming the geniuses of tomorrow. Students of Grade 3, 4 and 5 poured their creativity and talent at this Science fair. It also brought out the latent skills of the children.
Under the guidance of Science teachers, the students put up various experiments on display. Students prepared illustrative charts on The Human Heart, Respiratory System, Solar System and Balanced Diet. The models showcased the interest and understanding of Science. Students prepared working models on Rain Water Harvesting, Wind Mills, Modes of transport, ATM Dispenser, Candy Dispenser, Rockets, Money Printing machine and cold drink vending machine using old cardboard boxes and cereal boxes.
Parents and visitors were invited to motivate our student’s venture, and they gave positive feedback on the same.
Field Trip to Gandhi Ashram
A field trip was organised recently for the children of the pre-primary section to ‘Gandhi Ashram’. The guide at the Ashram explained to the children Gandhiji’s principle of non-violence and made the children promise that they would follow the same policy to achieve success in life. Students were shown a demonstration of the charkha used by Gandhiji. They were already familiar with the ‘speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil’ monkeys and were thrilled to see them. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise them with the life and times of Gandhiji. – The Father of the Nation. This visit also helped to instil confidence in the children to go out of their familiar surroundings and proceed together as a team.
Pre-Primary Celebrates Teachers Day
‘If you have to put someone on a pedestal, Put teachers,They are society’s heroes.
Children of Zebar Pre-Primary expressed their love for their teachers uniquely. The preschoolers came to school dressed up as their favorite teacher and took classes on this day to understand the hardships of being a teacher. Children had already prepared their lessons in advance, they spoke confidently and handled their friends. They also gave stars to their friends who behaved nicely in the class. This experience raised the respect they have for their teachers. Many games and other activities involving the teachers and children were organised in which the children participated enthusiastically
Zebar Matters October-2018
Swachhata Pakhwada
Zebar School participated with zeal and enthusiasm in ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ from September 1 – September 15, 2018. The students participated in an array of activities such as Letter writing to Ahmedabad Municipal Commission highlighting the civic issues they are facing in their locality, Best of Waste activity in which students created beautiful photo frames, pen stands and wall hangings.
A session was held on Handwashing techniques and Prevention of Water borne diseases in the campus. Students of the Primary section held an exhibition on Swachh Bharat. Through the use of charts and photographs they highlighted the need for increasing the levels of cleanliness in our country. Students distributed handmade badges to the ground staff and thanked them for cleaning the school daily. A Tree plantation drive was held in the campus where more than ten species of saplings were planted in the school campus. The whole event was supervised by Ms. Sharmistha Sinha Principal of Zebar School. Students took great interest in all the activities and were motivated towards maintaining clean and green surroundings.
UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition
We are glad to share that Ms Aahana Kukreja of grade 4th B has secured fourth position in 14th State UCMAS –Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition held recently. The school and management are proud of her achievements.
School launches Hands at Work
Zebar and Udgam launch Hands@Work, a book designed by the collective effort of leading educationists, child psychologists and handwriting experts. The need for the book arose when leading educationists felt that the present generation is addicted to digital media, and pre-schoolers face difficulties in primary school as they are not habituated in writing.
This curated booklet comprises of several easy home-based activities for strengthening fine motor skills which will develop the ability to write smoothly. It contains a detailed list of different types of pencil grasp, easy-to-do fine motor skill activities at home for 3-6 years of age. The book will serve as a ready reckoner for parents of pre-schoolers who have been introduced writing in school. These activities will not only strengthen the fine motor skills of the children but also give the parents and the children to bond over some creative time at home.
Assembly on Women Empowerment
The students of Grade 5 had an assembly on Women Empowerment. The assembly began with a prayer which was followed by the thought of the day. Navya updated the assembly with current news. Aarya gave an introduction to the assembly on Women Empowerment. The girls of class grade 5 C dressed as famous women personalities like Jhansi Ki Rani, Hellen Keller, Marie Curie, Kiran Bedi, Kalpana Chawla, Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, Malala Yousafzai shared details of their struggles and their achievements in the assembly. Anurihma Sinha, Manvi concluded the assembly by giving due accolades to our teachers who are the strongest example of women empowerment.
