However, with so many schools before them, it is difficult for parents to choose one. Well, there are many things that one needs to consider while choosing a  school for their child. So, without further ado, let’s give a read to these factors and help you make a wise decision.

Affiliation

Most parents make it a point to consider the affiliation of the CBSE school. Usually, all the CBSE schools have an affiliation with CBSE. Also, all the CBSE schools follow the same curriculum in India under CBSE affiliation. Many reputed organizations prefer CBSE school students when enrolling for their companies.

Effective teaching methods

Another critical factor is to check for the teaching methods of the best CBSE school in Ahmedabad. While every school boasts of teaching the best, parents must cross-check. You may ask the management or one of the teachers of the school you are considering. This will give you an idea of whether the teaching method is suitable for your child or not.

Co-curricular activities

Co-curricular activities are vital in determining your child’s overall growth and development. Co-curricular activities help to instill the cognitive and physical skills of your child. So, you must check whether the school you consider is offering co-curricular activities or not. These may include dancing, yoga, arts and crafts, and many other activities.

Learning environment

When choosing a CBSE school in Ahmedabad for your child, you must evaluate the school’s learning environment. Before enrolling your child, ensure that the school has proper facilities for everything. No child will look forward to studying in a chaotic environment without good facilities. These minute details matter a lot as these may distract your child from learning.

School population

The school population says a lot about the school itself. It depicts whether the student population is from varying backgrounds. There are no disparities if the school has students from all economic and ethnic backgrounds. As a result, your child will learn a lot about getting along with people from all social backgrounds.

Library and labs

One may not usually keep these in mind, but the school library and practical labs are essential aspects to consider. While choosing a CBSE board school in Ahmedabad, thinking these will determine to ensure your child is in safe hands. Your child will learn to spend time reading and doing practical work away from the gadgets.

Academic reputation

The school you choose for your child must have an excellent academic reputation. Such schools help their students to perform their best. Furthermore, learning from a good reputation school will help your child’s career growth. You know their future is secure when they pass out from the best school with flying colours.

Playground

Playing is an essential part of a child’s growth as kids learn many things. A school with a good playground will ensure your child will play various games. As a result, they will develop leadership and coordination skills. Additionally, your child will be able to learn from their friends, which will help him/her perform well.

School fees

Regarding the school’s fee, you should choose one that suits your budget. For example, CBSE schools in Ahmedabad may charge higher fees than other schools that follow state board curricula. Choose a school that follows the FRC guidelines issued by the state government.

Faculty

Last but not least, you must check for the qualification and experience of the school’s faculty. An experienced and well-qualified faculty ensures your child has a bright future learning from the best teachers.

Conclusion

As a parent, you may consider these aspects and choose the best school for your child’s admission. Take help from other parents and their experiences before choosing the right school for your child.

A talk on Healthy and Happy Periods

Zebar school organized a session  on Menstrual Hygiene and Awareness in order to help the female students of grade 6 embrace this phase of womanhood. Our guest speaker was leading gynaecologist Dr Gayatri Ravval, who is also a Zebar parent. She is a Gynaecologist and a certified counsellor in adolescent health and is currently the medical officer at Ahmedabad University.

In the session, we busted some myths about periods, and Dr Raval spoke about vaginal health, keeping the vagina clean, and choosing good quality sanitary products. In addition, she explained in detail topics like PMS (premenstrual syndrome), menstrual hygiene products like tampons and menstrual cups as well as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome and vaginal discharge). Ms Raval explained to our students why one should not use painkillers during menstruation.

As a final lesson, Dr. Raval taught grade 6 students how to maintain their health during menstruation by doing light pelvic exercises. Students then discussed their health and diet concerns regarding their menstrual cycle. As a result of this session, we hope our students will have a healthy and happy period in their teens.

Bullying means where a person is verbally or physically threatened or assaulted

Bullying means where a person is verbally or physically threatened or assaulted. It also means making a person feel a real or perceived power imbalance.

We at Zebar have no bullying policy. Keeping this in mind ‘Anti bullying week’ was taken upon to make sure no student in the campus is bullied.

Children made posters with slogans against the menace of bullying.

They did activities in their scrap books, where they wrote about ways to stop the bully from troubling the students.

The children were given a clear idea about the difference between teasing, harassing, and bullying. As these terms are often used interchangeably.

This Life Skill activity gave children an idea about what the person goes through when bullied and they learnt that no one should be bullied.
