Artificial intelligence forms the basis for all computer learning and is the future of all complex decision-making. AI is important because it includes the very foundation of computer learning. By learning about AI, students better understand their strengths as humans, identify their values, and develop the skills needed to solve real problems and put AI to good use.
National Education Policy aims to develop talent for the Fourth Industrial Revolution by preparing students for an economy driven by emerging technologies.
In Ahmedabad, Zebar was one of the first schools to introduce the subject of Artificial Intelligence to secondary students (IX and X). Recently Techknow Sci-Pi exhibition was held at the campus. Students did projects on three main domains of AI: Data Science, Computer Vision(CV) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Students showcased more than 15 projects during the exhibition.
The projects included biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste recognition, an ASL translator that can translate the sign language of deaf and dumb people into English, a CV-based uniform verification system that ensures students are wearing proper uniforms, and a Teachers Toolkit.
There was a lot of interest in the exhibition on projects such as AI Based Traffic Police, that can scan number plates of vehicles breaking traffic rules, fetch details of violators, and generate challans, and Diana Robot, which uses data, CV, and NLP domains of AI.
Students explained each and every element of their projects in great detail and all the projects showed true subject knowledge.
